Swappable diode modules on D1 Pro frame
xTool D1 Pro uses plug-in diode modules (5W–40W depending on era and listing). Buy the module power you need — same rail and software as other D1 Pro heads.
Pages below are per factory-installed module. Other wattages are sold as separate heads you can swap on the same cabinet.
TL;DR
The 40W D1 Pro module swaps onto the same frame as 5W–20W heads. Best cut headroom in the line; verify optical power on the listing.

- ✓Strong software support and community tutorials
- ✓Good build quality vs. cheaper Chinese diodes
- ✓LightBurn compatible for advanced users
Cons

- ✗Slower on large fill engravings compared to CO₂
- ✗Air assist and enclosure sold separately
- ✗Diode spot size limits ultra-fine detail vs. fiber/UV
Beginner notes
Choose 20W if it matches your typical jobs. Compare cut depth and price against other tiers in this product line before ordering.
Pro tips
Use air assist and a honeycomb bed for cleaner cuts. For metal marking, use LaserBond or Brilliance spray — results vary by coating. Upgrade to steel wheel risers if you engrave tumblers or cylindrical objects.
